This is our staff blog where our departments will collaborate around ideas and thoughts that will improve teaching and learning and increase teacher capacity to lead in our school.
When you think you can't, or that you might have a hard day...watch this and realize YOU make a difference in the lives of ALL kids! Somewhere, someone believed in these kids! YOU are those people that believe! Never let our kids give up!
This is a great story and a very real reminder how much believing in someone can change their life. I liked where the guys team manager said that it's not easy to get to know him. We have to be so careful not to let external or internal characteristics stand in the way of our connecting with a child. They all have value no matter what physical, emotional, social or psychological differences they may have. When we model this unconditional acceptance, our students see it and hopefully will, at some point, do the same.

ReplyDeleteMelanie, you were spot on when you said we must model this UNCONDITIONAL ACCECPTANCE. Our students watch and know if we our words are real.
